In honor of halloween week Ningyoushi (also known as Double Punch in the offline world) has a few hilarious 2010 Halloween Gloomy Bears available. This werewolf is my favorite, but be sure to check them all out. I love me some Gloomies.
I got one of these for my son and he LOVES it. Loves it so much that he goes straight to it when he wakes up in the morning. Loves it so much that we sat and played with it for almost an hour without him losing any interest at all. That's saying a lot for an almost two year old.
And really, who can blame him? There are a ton of vinyl stickers that you can easily move around constantly featuring pirates, fish, alligators, islands, trees, treasure, maps... etc etc. His favorite thing to do though? Stick the pirate ship flag into the statues eye and make all the monkeys hang out on the pirate captains hat.
Have to add this little disclaimer here - these do have a 3+ warning for small parts. Some of the stickers are pretty little.

Growing up close to Los Angeles and then moving to San Francisco has meant that I've been lucky enough to spend a lot of time in really cool wacky shops. Although WACKO is a close runner up (but they're kind of cheating since La Luz de Jesus is attached) Paxon Gate is my favorite place ever, easily. If you've never been it's basically like walking into a Victorian Curiosity Cabinet in the middle of a scientist's garden. Does that make any sense?
Anyway, I've been meaning to post about them and their new kids store for awhile, so I decided to check out their website and I found this. Sigh. Gotta love it, when my son is a little older I'm going to have to get him one of these.

Hand knit in Vermont, this classroom favorite is made from silk & wool blend yarn with 100% wool felted organs. Now more realistic than ever! Each frog is lovingly mounted on thick brown cork, so you can remove and reposition. Oh the possibilities!
PS - Their kids store will also mount stuffed animal heads if you bring them in. A great way to immortalize your stuffed animals from childhood that you keep hidden in your closet.
