10 Christmas Ornaments That Your Kids Can't Break.

Our son's birthday is October 27th, so last year was really our first Christmas with him mobile and able to do things to the tree. This year he's two and three feet tall, so we'll probably have to keep most of the glass ornaments put away since he thinks anything that's shaped like a circle is a ball. Here are ten ornaments that he'll be able to put on the tree.

$9.95 | Crate & Barrel

I got these last year when Mark was one and we had a nice afternoon of him pulling them out of the box and stacking them and me threading them with red ribbon. They're sturdy and at $10 for 24 you can use them as sort of a base ornament to replace the glass ones for a few years.

Wilkintie!!!

How in the hell have I not heard of these people! Some great letterpressed prints from fantastic artists are available over on their site.

From their site

"We remember our favourite pictures and stories from childhood — images seemed to jump off the pages of storybooks, and characters came to life in our minds. In exposing children to the exciting world of art, we hope to spark their imagination and inspire their own creativity."

Mudpuppy Sticker Scenes

I got one of these for my son and he LOVES it. Loves it so much that he goes straight to it when he wakes up in the morning. Loves it so much that we sat and played with it for almost an hour without him losing any interest at all. That's saying a lot for an almost two year old.

And really, who can blame him? There are a ton of vinyl stickers that you can easily move around constantly featuring pirates, fish, alligators, islands, trees, treasure, maps... etc etc. His favorite thing to do though? Stick the pirate ship flag into the statues eye and make all the monkeys hang out on the pirate captains hat.

Have to add this little disclaimer here - these do have a 3+ warning for small parts. Some of the stickers are pretty little.

A Modern Eden

I don't remember exactly how I came across A Modern Eden, but they have the most stylish kids apps you have ever seen. I am so serious people. And they also make flash cards, totes and prints, which are all handy when you have a little one around. Very good at merchandising these people!

99¢ Each | A Modern Eden

I love these apps. The illustrations are gorgeous and the voice overs are well done. I think the first app Speak, Piggy is the better for the younger kids, and "C is for Cow" is probably better for slightly older kids, but really at 99¢ each they are both a complete bargain.

Laser Cut Goodness & Joy

I love laser cut pretty much anything, and I seem to have been stumbling over it everywhere lately. Here are ten totally awesome laser cut pieces.

laser_01.jpg

$150 by Jolby on Etsy.

I love Jolby, saw them on Grain Edit recently and had to check out their Etsy shop. It is AWESOME. They have several other laser cut wood pieces and they are all gorgeous and have an amusing little tale behind them like this one, The Giants of Lemuria.

"Lemuria, as with nearly all the lost and/or submerged islands and continents, was said to be inhabited by people who were blessed with a perfect climate and free of all sickness and worry. Lemurians were said to be some fifteen feet tall. What is more, these brown-skinned people were hermaphrodites, equipped with flat faces and enormous hands and feet. Some of them possessed a third eye in the back of the head and they had developed psychic powers and communicated telepathically. These folk also owned two font eyes set so far apart on the front of their faces that they could also see sideways. Sadly, it is thought that they were never a very intelligent race and there are people who believe that the lost continent of Lemuria will rise again."

Enormous Champions makes super cute laser cut animals, there are only a couple in their shop right now, but it looks like they might make some more if you ask nicely.

$78 by Decoy Lab on Etsy

Lots of awesome stuff in the Decoy Lab Etsy shop, and although this particular one is currently reserved, I'd try shooting an email to if you could get another one made. Gorgeous clock.

$89 by Diogo Machado on Grove

I am sort of anti iPhone cover since I've had one for years and never been able to scratch the screen or break it, but these are pretty damn sweet.

$125 each from Because We Can

Because we can makes great stuff. I also love this President & Wildlife Chairs.

ptcl_mobile_forest.jpg

$68 from Branch

Baby Bear and Mama Bear really make this one for me.

il_fullxfull.158615747.jpg

$26 by Fable & Fury on Etsy

At $26 this is just a great piece to have around for anything. I think I might even string it with a ribbon and use it as a bookmark.

il_fullxfull.111513871.jpg

$97.95 by Victorian Dollhouse on Etsy

The only question is why in the hell would you buy anything else with this priced under a $100? This is the best dollhouse I've ever seen.

IMG_1950-6-squarepreview-1.jpg

$38.95 on Xylocopa.

T is for Tentacle. That good enough for me. Tentacle, Tentacle, Tentacle start with T!!!
In all seriousness, these are awesome and something I've been meaning to pick up for my son for awhile now. Gotta love them.

IMG_3428-16.jpg

$20 on Xylocpa

Had to sneak a Day of the Dead one in here, these are so awesome. Not sure if they're laser cut, but I'm guessing from the slight scoured edge look that they are. Beautiful.
