10 Christmas Ornaments That Your Kids Can't Break.

Our son's birthday is October 27th, so last year was really our first Christmas with him mobile and able to do things to the tree. This year he's two and three feet tall, so we'll probably have to keep most of the glass ornaments put away since he thinks anything that's shaped like a circle is a ball. Here are ten ornaments that he'll be able to put on the tree.

$9.95 | Crate & Barrel

I got these last year when Mark was one and we had a nice afternoon of him pulling them out of the box and stacking them and me threading them with red ribbon. They're sturdy and at $10 for 24 you can use them as sort of a base ornament to replace the glass ones for a few years.

There are a ton of these on Etsy, just look for wool acorns ornaments. Picked these out because I like the colors and the twine.

Origami Flowers

I love filling up our house with flowers every week. Unfortunately it's an expensive and often controversial undertaking - both my husband and nanny have VERY active allergies and I am constantly finding out that some flower or other has totally set them off. Lilies have sadly been completely banned.

So when I came across these origami flowers on Paper Crave today I thought perfect! My husband is always asking me why I can't just buy some faux flowers (I bet you can imagine the nose crinkling response that gets). Finally I've found some that meet my standards.

Paperwink Rubber Address Stamps

I've been lazily looking for some return address stamps off and on and came across these on Paper Crave. I like that some of them are super cute, some are almost snotty, and others are more serious. Will have to get me some of these until I eventually get around to getting our own made out of my husbands totally awesome smoking bull mascot.

Heads For Your Mantle

For some weird reason, most people these days seem to have pretty much decided against having large taxidermy head mounts hanging out over their mantels. And the designers & artists, they have responded. Here are 10 fantastic, cruelty free, animal heads.

$68 | Anthropologie

Ok, so a quick disclaimer here, this guy doesn't come with the paper glasses that are pictured. But if you like them, just print out the image, make a copy at 500% & redraw the lines with a black sharpie. Cut them out, tape them  on, volia! Your very own incredibly smart giraffe.

They also come in Zebra, Rhino & Elephant and are made out of cement bags and pages from vintage french books. Fancy!
